INTRODUCTION

This Privacy Policy explains how MilGPS (“the App”, “we”, “our”)
handles information when you use our mobile application. We are
committed to protecting your privacy. This policy applies to all
versions of MilGPS published on Google Play.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Location Data
The App collects your device’s GPS location in real time, including:
• Latitude and longitude
• Altitude
• Speed
• Heading / bearing
• GPS accuracy

This data is used exclusively to display your position on the map,
calculate coordinates (MGRS, UTM, USNG, QTH), provide compass
guidance, record tracks, and measure distances.

Location data is processed locally on your device.
It is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2.2 Sensor Data
The App may access the barometric pressure sensor on your device
to calculate barometric altitude and atmospheric pressure.
This data is processed locally and never shared.

2.3 Waypoints, Routes, and Tracks
Any waypoints, routes, and recorded tracks you create are stored
locally on your device using the device’s file system or internal
storage. We do not have access to this data.

2.4 Offline Map Cache
When you download offline map tiles, the tile images are stored
locally in your device’s cache. This data does not contain any
personal information and is not transmitted to us.

2.5 Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect or store:
• Your name, email address, or any account information
• Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, etc.)
• Usage analytics or crash reports
• Any data that leaves your device to our servers

THIRD-PARTY MAP SERVICES

To display map tiles, the App makes standard HTTPS requests to the
following third-party tile providers. These requests include your
approximate map view area (bounding box and zoom level) but do NOT
include your precise GPS coordinates.

These services operate under their own privacy policies. We
recommend reviewing them if you have concerns about tile request
logging.

PERMISSIONS

The App requests the following Android permissions:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
Required to obtain your GPS position for navigation and
coordinate display.

• ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION (if applicable)
Required only if you enable background track recording.
This allows the App to continue recording your route
when the screen is off or the App is minimized.

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE
Used to keep track recording active in the background
via a persistent notification.

• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Used to import GPX/KML/CSV files and export tracks,
waypoints, and routes to your device storage.

• INTERNET
Required to load map tiles from third-party tile servers.
Not used to transmit your personal data.

You may deny or revoke any permission at any time through your
device settings. Denying location permission will disable core
navigation features.

DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

All user-generated data (waypoints, routes, tracks, settings)
is stored locally on your device. We do not operate any servers
that receive, store, or process your personal data.

You can delete all App data at any time by:
• Clearing App data from your device settings, or
• Uninstalling the App.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do
not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through
the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes
will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this
document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of
the updated policy.
